“Heads Or Tails”

As a young boy most if not all of our disputes were settled by the proverbial coin toss.

Coin flipping, coin tossing, or heads or tails is the practice of throwing a coin in the air to choose between two alternatives, sometimes to resolve a dispute between two parties. It is a form of sortition which inherently has only two possible and equally likely outcomes. wikipedia.com

It is also used as determining factor of some professional sports and political elections. wikipedia.com

My Son and I had a conversation a while back as we were talking about how much “headspace” we were wasting trying to complete and build our “Brands ” he surprised me when he said that whenever he needed to make a quick decision he’d just flip a coin. I said, ” What” he said yeah. It took me by surprise and I needed moment and thinking of the odds “50/50” I’m thinking hmm, that could work (at least for some of the small things)  Well, couldn’t it???

The Lydian minted the first coins in 10 BC but it wasn’t until nine hundred years later that the coin toss became a decision-maker.

Julius Caesar’s head appeared on one side of every Roman coin of his time, and such was the reverence for the emperor that in his absence often serious litigation was decided by the flip of a coin.

So litigation, Politics, Sporting event all at one time were determined by the flip of a coin. wikipedia.com

I have alway prided myself on the fact that I knew a lot about a lot of things. However, I found an interesting article about mind clutter.

“Never memorize something that you can look up”…

-Albert Einstein-

Just imagine how many things that can be accomplished, how much brain space that can be freed up or how little worry/pondering that will happen “Thank me later”…

There is a 50/50 chance that you are good, and though those aren’t the best odds there is time available for you to focus on other things. And if there is a 60/40 or 70/30 there is no need for a coin toss because you have your answer. Wikipedia

Maybe the idea isn’t to start a new trend. Maybe,we all just need to free up some headspace .

Maybe Einstein has a point ” why not just “Google It”…?

Maybe my Son also has a point “Flip A Coin”…

Either way our lives will be enriched by the idea of getting thing done quicker.

Now would be a good time to say,

Thank you…
