“That’s going to leave a mark”

There was,is and will always be a familiar quotes by Mom’s and Dads everywhere.
One such quote is “that’s going to leave a mark” the idea is connected to a slip and fall, a stunt gone terribly wrong and number of things that may happen as we discover the world as a child.
This idea also serves to alert us to an undesirable,

soon to be memory of something we were told not to do and chose to do “ Our own Way” but in a world where everyone is trying to in some way leave our mark,“ Is Leaving a mark” (Is that really a bad thing?)
Well in that case, it depends, because we live in a time where nothing seems private, everyone have a phone and you have no idea who’s watching you.
Innocence lost:

1.)It seems like just yesterday we had privacy, we spoke to people in person and looked in their eyes.

2.)Our business was our business.

3.)Our children were safe to go out in our neighborhoods.

4.)Bullies were someone you could see and tortured you in person (Not online)

5.) Parents were 2 people and if 1 parent was too busy, not only did you have the other but you could count on them to share the information with the other.
Wow, that would certainly “Leave A Mark”
In the book “My Parents Were Awesome” Eliot Glazer writes .Your mom and dad weren’t always parents. They used to be people—and they were awesome
They bathed you. They fed you. They raised you to become the person you are today. Your parents are an integral part of your story. But guess what? They have a story too—one that started long before you entered the picture. Before embarrassing fanny packs and Lite FM, there was a time when Mom and Dad were young and carefree—just like you. They were also fun and flirty, full of hope and desire and effortlessly cool.
As a Youth Advocate I had become some of kind of. Child whisperer and being asked over and over again “How did you know?” My response would always be “I Remember”..I remember a lot of things about my childhood but most of all “I remember how it felt to feel all alone in a crowded room, how tough it could bet to find and keep friends , and how I needed someone to have” Empathy.”
Empathy

noun
the psychological identification with or vicarious experiencing of the feelings, thoughts, or attitudes of another.

the imaginative ascribing to an object, as a natural object or work of art, feelings or attitudes present in oneself: By means of empathy, a great painting becomes a mirror of the self.

Origin: 1900–05; < Greek empátheia affection, equivalent to em- em-2 + path- (base of páschein to suffer) + -eia -ia; present meaning translates German Einfühlung thank you dictionary.com…
Whether intentionally or accidentally kind or not kind we are to one another It’s “Going to leave a mark”
Your mark is your signature a tattoo of sorts and it gives everyone that comes in contact with you a idea of

1.)who you are.

2.)Where you’ve been.

3.)Who you may have come into contact with.

4.)What you believe.
It may also give them a false sense of the same things because marks, tattoos and scars become a part of our lives for any number of reason ( It called life)
For a moment there it may have appeared that our situation was hopeless/hopeful but I wouldn’t do that to you.life is complex and people are apart of life.
And yes those are “life’s marks” and the only way to erase or at least heal life’s marks is to create a purpose, add value, show empathy. Leaving the world better than you found it…

Change Your Diet: Many people will argue with the validity of this strategy to improve the world; however, what you buy reflects what you value.

If you don’t want to become a vegetarian, try having one meat-free day per week. If you don’t want to reduce your meat consumption, how about buying some free range meat or eggs? Or, buy organic food products. There are many ways you can change your diet to reflect your values.

Make Your Purchases Support Your Values: Every purchase you make supports something. You can either support a large business that exploits people, animals, and the environment, or you can buy items that are local, organic, or fair-trade. It’s hard to change this all at once, especially if you’re used to shopping for bargains, but try changing just a few of your purchases to make them better reflect the things you value.
These are just a handful of the thousands of ways you can make the world a better place! Just remember that every single thing you do makes a difference. Don’t ever let anyone—yourself included—discourage you from trying to be a better person and help others.
