Recognizing the significance and relevance of Bruce may appear to be a “Me” thing.
I actually share these experiences because I believe that (He) will speak to this and future generations.
I for one had an opportunity to read much of Bruce Lee’s writings as a philosopher and became more of a fan of the man and his teachings.
One such example is found in his notes (.brainpickings.org)
IMAGINATION: —
Recognizing the need for sound PLANS and IDEAS for the attainment of my desires, I will develop my imagination by calling upon it daily for help in the formation of my plans. -Bruce Lee-
As I read the particular writings I couldn’t help but think that they may be part of his daily affirmations or a mantra of some sort something that he said as past of a daily ritual.
He (Bruce) speak of or appears to be speaking to himself (I and My ) are throughout these writings.
Bruce draws a roadmap to accomplishing the things that we desire that is similar to many of the (philosophies) that gurus and students of positive thinking ascribed.
Recognize a need for a plan.
An idea for attainment.
Followed by:
3.) Develop (My) imagination.
4.) Call upon it daily.
The Mind and Imaginations “Responsibility”
Help in the formation of my plan.
There are many way to accomplish the objective.
A.) Write it down.
B.) Make a photo board or poster
C.)Imagine as part of meditation or wake dreams.
Accomplishing a ( mind desire) is simple but not easy because we always must consider the one thing.
Mind Traffic: Our minds are busy.
Our brains are really busy and that coupled with a lifetime of experience it is next to impossible to convince it to do.
New things.
Scary things
Adventurous things
The new workout,a new job or relationship any number of “New Things” can cause the mind to shut down or reject the (Discipline) that it takes.
Our Brain:
In fact, your brain is the boss of your body. It runs the show and controls just about everything you do, even when you’re asleep. Not bad for something that looks like a big, wrinkly, gray sponge. Your brain has many different parts that work together. kidshealth.org.
HHmmm…
How does the brain control habits and behavior?
How Habits Form:
It turns out that every habit starts with a psychological pattern called a “habit loop,” which is a three-part process. First, there’s a cue, or trigger, that tells your brain to go into automatic mode and let a behavior unfold.
“Then there’s the routine, which is the behavior itself,” Duhigg tells Fresh Air’s Terry Gross. “That’s what we think about when we think about habits.”
The third step, he says, is the reward: something that your brain likes that helps it remember the “habit loop” in the future.www.npr.org
Wow!
Bruce Lee was onto something.
I hope that you enjoyed the piece
